Hey there! My name is Shubham Singh, and I’m a full-time trader. I’ve been trading for a while now, and over time, I realized I wanted to share my experiences, lessons, and even the mistakes I’ve made along the way. That’s how this blog, Options Athlete, was born. If you’ve checked out the About Us page, you probably know how I got started in trading, so I won’t repeat myself here. But if there’s one thing I want you to know, it’s this: “I love trading it’s not just a profession, it’s a way of life.”
Options trading has become such a big part of my life that weekends sometimes feel a bit too quiet without the markets buzzing. But honestly, those breaks are necessary. Trading can burn you out if you don’t take time to recharge and reflect.
This being my first post, I just want to say thank you to everyone who visits this blog. Whether you’re here to learn, find inspiration, or just explore, I truly appreciate it. My aim is simple: to share content that’s helpful, straightforward, and maybe even a bit thought-provoking. Whether you’re just starting out or already deep into trading, I hope you’ll find something here that resonates with you.
The name Options Athlete reflects exactly what trading means to me. The word “Options” is obviously about the core focus—options trading. But the word “Athlete”? That’s about the mindset. To me, trading is like a sport. You need:
- Discipline to stick to your plans
- Patience to wait for the right setups
- Persistence to keep going when things get tough
- Resilience to handle losses
- Adaptability to adjust your strategies
Losses are a part of this game, they’re inevitable, and they happen more often than most people think. When I started, I made the mistake of believing I could avoid losses entirely like I just needed to “figure it all out.” But the truth is, losses aren’t something you avoid; they’re something you learn to handle. They’re the price we pay to stay in the game. The sooner you accept and internalize this truth, the better prepared you’ll be to navigate the ups and downs of trading.
Nothing in options trading is perfectly linear. The learning curve, the profits, and even the losses are unpredictable. The key is to see every loss as a lesson. Sure, it stings in the moment, but over time, those lessons add up and make you better. There’s a saying I love: “Either you earn something, or you learn something.” That’s been true for me every step of the way.
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope this blog becomes a place where you find value, insights, and maybe even a bit of inspiration. Let’s navigate the highs and lows of options trading together!
